Imagination on Canvas

Artist, John Southworth Hamilton “JSH” started painting with no training nor prior experience. John & his son Southworth were listening to music and viewing various artists' works. Jackson Pollack’s “Mural” crossed the screen and Worth said "Dad, this guy's stuff really speaks to me". John was inspired and completed his first painting "Southworth" soon after.
John prefers the vibrancy of acrylic paints for his creations. Early paintings were made for friends, family, and several good causes, including Autism Awareness and The Wounded Warrior Project. His paintings have since been commissioned and he especially enjoys creating paintings that have a personal connection for his subjects and clients.
Some would call John's work Folk Art, others fun-spirited and animated. John likes to find humor in life’s realities.
John resides in Island Park, Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He works for a global hotel management company based in Boston and currently enjoys painting on weekends and in his spare time.
